Saw this rough sketch over in Randy's gallery, and decided to play around with it for a bit: [link]

At first I was gonna just make it a female Punisher. But when I got to looking at the pose a bit more, I decided to do a What If? instead.

So here ya go...

What If Jean Grey was the Punisher?

When Scott Summers was killed in the crossfire of a Mafia shootout, Jean Grey put Xavier's combat training to use and set aside Xavier's dream of a peaceful co-existance between humans and mutantkind -- waging a one-woman war on crime. As the Punisher, Grey reinvented herself as the merciless scourge of the underworld. The mere mention of her name causes criminals everywhere to cringe in fear, because they all know the Punisher plays for keeps -- and someday, she may be coming for them!

I just modified Jean's Ultimate costume (cuz it's made of segsah). She doesn't need no stinkin kevlar. Instead she can just do a telekinetic shield or sumfin.

Tools: Photoshop CS2, Wacom, and Mozilla Firefox for sneakin over and stealing lineart outta Randy's gallery.

Wow. This is truly stunning work. I gave the original lineart a close look, and you really went and expanded on it, truly made it your own. Well done! :thumbsup: :D

Thanks bud. My little story there isn't anything original. I just took the opening paragraph from the Punisher comics and modified it. A real writer could probably do something with it, but I'm a tool =D

I'm pretty sure that it has a bazillion gamut issues that would muddy it up at print =D
