Recommend me some...

Comics, trades, and OGNs!

I'm not big on superhero books anymore. I'll probably buy the last couple of years of Moon Knight for my collection, but outside of that I have little desire to try and catch up on so much missed continuity. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy capes, but getting back to reading em without being confused as to who is who or what's going on...meh. I'l take a rain check.

For my reading tastes, about the only comics I read regularly are The Goon and a little Hellboy. Outside of those 2, I prefer sci-fi (the grittier the better), fantasy, steampunk, psychological thrillers, and horror. I actually have no preference on settings for those last 2.

Artwork is a major factor in my reading tastes. I don't mind stylized art, but it still has to be good. I can't read a book where the penciller had zero storytelling skills, or there are anatomy issues all over the place. I also prefer color (whodathunkit?), or at the very least greyscale. I'm just not a big fan of pure b&w in modern comics simply because I always end up mentally comparing it with the old Warren mags.

Manga? Dogs: Bullets & Carnage and Blame are good stuffs and worth checking out, although youd probably have to read scanlations of them.
id recommend hitman from dc.. i know theres a few tps knockin about.... great stories, great art, really likable characters, even if most of em are killers! you get guest appearances from random capes as hes based in gotham city but usually theyre just ridiculed... bits and pieces of all genres in the run so im sure thered be somethin to please ya!
100 Bullets and Invincible- the two best books on the market right now.

Fear agent is the best book on the market. I love it. The Goon TPB are good as well.
You probably know some if not most of these but here goes.

Fear Agent - A drunken space cowboy exterminator. Everything about that sounds awesome.

100 Bullets - The best crime story I've read. The first trade didn't really catch my attention but by the end of the second I was hooked.

Walking Dead - The best zombie story out there.

Invincible - The best superhero story happening.

DMZ - Follows a journalist through the second American Civil war.

Iron Fist - Only the last two trades that have come out. They don't require you to know a ton of continuity and they were really fun reads of mystic martial arts stuff.
I've been reading Hack/Slash, Empowered, and Kick-Ass.
