Never seems to fail. Once I get towards the end of a project, we end up getting thunderstorms and I have to shut down my computer. Yesterday we had lightning off and on all day long, so I would work about 30-60 minutes and then shut down for 2-3 hours until the lightning passed. Start up again, work for 30-60 minutes, then shut down for 2-3 hours for another batch of lightning. This went on all day and night. So instead of getting 3 pages done like I'd hoped, I was only able to get 1 finished.
My old computer got fried during a thunderstorm, even with a surge protector, so I don't even risk it anymore. Can't afford to buy a new computer every other week!
The thing that irritates me is that this book would have been finished already, but I've had to shut down 2-3 times now due to storms. Ugh. So much hate. Now I'm just hoping to have it finished by Tuesday at the latest. Of course, it's still raining today so I may end up having to shut down again.
Funny thing about last night though, even with all the storming going on the locals weren't gonna be denied their firecracker fun! It was funny. I can understand wanting to set off firecrackers since exploding things are just made of cool. But when there's lightning striking in the area, it's time to put down the Pabst, open up a can of common sense and take a big ole drink.
And because of the weather, my cat's being an ole attention whore as well. So now I get to work in that awkward sitting position while she sleeps on my lap.
Ole Chris called this morning asking if I wanted to go put the Chinese buffet outta business again for lunch, but I had to tell him no (which took him by surprise). Told him I had to work on these pages. Don't think he's used to my work ethics, which is understandable since he knew me back in the day when I had zero ethics, let alone work ethics. Old roomies in Houston used to get mad because I refused to go do anything when I was in the middle of a project. Ben and Halee get mad at me when I'm working because I'm no fun, and all I do is focus on my job until it's finished. Funny how you can't shake certain parts of your past reputation.
Enough ramblin. Time to try and get some more pages done while I pet the pussy...
Oh yeah, I went there.

if you're a dreamer night is the only time of day.
Just finished up another page, and about to start on another un. I was bouncing around and just do pages that all had the same locations so I didn't have to fuss with palettes too much. But now I'm out of those types of pages and everything left is all single shot scenes. Bleh. I do have a page with big explosions left though. Think that's the one I'll do!
